phoyo: sustainable playhouse from new zealand

Phoyo's flat pack childrens playhouse is a genius idea. It ships flat and less expensively, you put it together one panel at a time- in minutes you have a modern playhouse that you can build inside when weather is not permitting or outside when it's pleasant.

The Phoyo playhouse was designed by New Zealand Architect Robin Hannah and made locally from sustainably grown pine. It's big on fun but small enough to fit on a balcony or in a living room. When not in use it packs away again and you can easily store it under a child's bed or in a closet.

Hannah had originally created something similar for her own children, but revisted the project with new company Phoyo for her grandchildren. When built, the playhouse measures 47 x 35x 43 inches.

At $500 a pop, I’m not sure how exactly is this affordable. And will all due respect, it looks disturbingly like a dog house. Wonderfully easy set up… way way too expensive.

Agreed that it is expensive–I only commented on the shipping rate being cheaper….but I love great ideas, and this is one!
