natalie dissel: sustainable jewelry

Natalie Dissel's drop dead gorgeous line of jewelry just happens to be sustainable sourced! Her line is truly jewelry with a conscience.

Dissel also takes special interest in supporting small non-profit, charitable projects. While working and traveling in developing countries over the last few years, Natalie has seen the difficulties endured by those who are poverty stricken and lack the basic life necessities. Through small fundraisings and charitable contributions, Natalie has initiated projects such as providing educational support for orphans in Thailand. In 2004, Natalie had a firsthand experience of the devastation caused by the tsunami while living on the island of Phuket and personally assisted in the relief efforts. With money raised, Natalie bought fishing boats, collaborated with local projects to rebuild houses and assisted in food and aid drop-offs, around the affected areas.

While working on the MADE collection in Nairobi in Dec.07, Natalie focused her efforts to Africa where she collected money for a school in Kibera, Africa’s second largest slum. Proceeds were used towards purchasing books, meals and teachers salaries. Currently, Natalie is looking for opportunities where she can continue her philanthropy contributions for those in need with a focus on Indonesia.
