food foraging :: local is lovely

Using food from the local area is so important for many reasons, creating a local economy, personal health (eating seasonal), sustainability, etc.--collecting food from neighbors yards, your own yard or nearby wilderness is such a joy. During hikes and strolls, edible mushrooms can later become little gems in a risotto or a soup. Berries become jams and fresh pies, salads taste amazing... these are photos of some foods I foraged this summer.
